Ir Ts Dr Tham received his Bachelor of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Telecommunication Engineering from University of Malaya. He is an Associate Professor with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. His research interests include IoT, machine learning/deep learning/deep reinforcement learning and wireless communications and networking. He has been a principal investigator (PI) of 11 research and development projects. This includes 2 international grants (ASEAN IVO and British Council), Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Tin Industry (R&D) Board and multiple industry-funded projects. He has more than 50 scientific publications (including 2 IEEE Transactions papers as a principal author). He is a professional engineer (Electronic) registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia and professional technologist (Electronic) registered with Malaysia Board of Technologists. 3 PhD and 2 Master students have graduated under his supervision.
