In Ipoh, the MCA has extended an open invitation to the public to attend the ground-breaking ceremony for the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) main campus in Kampar.

Perak MCA chairman Datuk Ong Ka Chuan said the public also welcome to attend the ceremony as the university "belongs to everyone".

The event, themed "Culture of Gratitude" is also being held in honour of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Ong said everyone is thankful to the Prime Minister for UTAR as well as for leading and giving confidence to the country and people and also having a liberal view on education during these 21 years.
