Hulu Selangor MCA division believes they have managed to create a record by raising more than half-a-million ringgit for the UTAR development fund.

Event chairman Datuk Ch'ng Toh Eng said, "We set out to get RM500,000 and in the end we collected RM560,000."

"Malays, Indians, the Sikhs, Chinese and even the orang asli gave us money. They believe in UTAR and are of the view that any institution of higher learning built to offer quality education at affordable fees should be supported," said Datuk Ch'ng.
