Indian community donates to UTAR Indians from all walks of life, from young children and teenagers to elderly people, lined up to give their contributions to Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) at a cultural show organized by the Indian Progressive Front (IPF) at Mint Hotel. The people, mainly from the poor, handed over a total of RM14,308.85 in coins and notes to Dr Ling Liong Sik, who was the guest-of-honour at the event. Some children even handed over their piggy banks to Dr Ling for a worthy cause. Dr Ling said even though IPF could not contribute much, what was important was their wish to contribute to education. |
