We Want UTAR To Be A University Catering To All Races, Says Ling

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) will be represented by all the major races in the country although currently the representation of non-Chinese at the university is small, said its chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik.

UTAR has 3,698 students this year at its Petaling Jaya main campus compared with only 400 students last year. Currently, there are 62 Indian students and 19 Bumiputera students.

Datuk Seri Dr Ling said they will be going to secondary schools to explain the courses offered by UTAR to encourage more non-Chinese students to study in UTAR.
