No Upgrade For College As MCA Unveils UTAR

Deputy Education Minister Dato' Hon Choon Kim said Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College will not be upgraded into a university but instead a new private university named Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahamn (UTAR) will be built.

He said Education Minister Tan Sri Musa Mohamand had extended an invitation to the party to set up a company to establish the university, adding that the company would be named Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Sdn. Bhd.

Dato' Hon said the Minister had extended the invitation under Section 22 of the Private Universities Act, 1996.
