Ling: No Quota System For UTAR

Party President Dato' Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik said MCA's UTAR would not practise the quota system and student selection would be completely based on meritocracy.

Dr Ling added that this would mean that only the best could get into the university.

According to Dr Ling, the first batch of 300 students would be taken in next June.

UTAR's temporary premises would be in Section 13, Petaling Jaya.

Dr Ling praised the College administrators for having worked "day and night" for three whole months to prepare the required documents to be presented to the National Accreditation Board. "They worked very hard to furnish the Accreditation Board with details of all the disciplines to be offered at UTAR, " said Dr Ling.
