Eight Degree Courses For A Start

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman is offering eight degree courses for its first intake of student for academic year 2002/2003 beginning May at its temporary campus in Petaling Jaya.

The courses are:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Business Information Systems
  • Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Information Systems Engineering
  • Bachelor of Accounting (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours)
  • Bachelor of Multimedia Communication (Honours) Journalism
  • Bachelor of Multimedia Communication (Honours) Public Relations
  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Chinese Studies

MCA president Datuk Seri Ling Liong Sik said students with STPM, A-Level, United Examination Certificate, South Australian Matriculation, Canadian Pre-U or equivalent qualification were eligible to apply.

He said holders of SPM or its equitvalent would be required to do a Certiticate in Pre-Unitiversity Studies, a one-year course whose total fee would be between RM 2,386 and RM 2,646.

He said it would cost between RM20,000 and RM25,000 for students to do the three-year honours course full-time.

He added that MCA would help those who could not afford by referring them to organisations providing financial aid for deserving students and Admission into UTAR will be based on merit.

He further added that the Education Ministry's National Accreditation Board had approved four of its eight degree courses.
