Ling Unveils And Explains About UTAR Logo

Unveiled yesterday by MCA President Dato' Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik, the emblem will have the national colours of red, yellow and blue with the letter "A" in red to give it prominence besides sugguesting distinction and excellence in the education provided by UTAR.

The aim was to create one that ws simple, informative and striking but which would also be a symbol for the aspiration of excellent all-round education geared for challenges of the digital age. The colour red also signifies success, prosperity and protection from negative forces. The brilliant yellow backbone tick and cascade of lines imply a surge of dynamics and energy of the university. The swing of the stroke also resembles a "yes" which is a mark of "enthusiastic approval". The three fine strokes on each side of the tail of the backbone symbolise UTAR's five faculties and one institute. The seventh stroke represents the nono-academic aspect.
