It gives me great pleasure to say a few words in this first issue of The UTARian. I am delighted that we are publishing this e-newsletter for our alumni.

The primary purpose of this newsletter is to serve as a two-way communication channel between the alumni and their alma mater. It is also an opportunity for the alumni to contact each other through the "Want to contact your classmate?"link.

Alumni can refer to "Jobzone" for career opportunities, while the "Upcoming Events" link announces activities in store for the alumni.

Through this newsletter, the alumni will be kept up to date with the developments of UTAR. At the same time, the alumni may share their views, comments, and suggestions through "Write to the Editor". They may contribute articles, including sharing with other alumni their own experiences and achievements I hope that this newsletter will also become a vehicle for strengthening and maintaining the bond between the alumni and the University.

I understand from the Department of Alumni Relations and Placement that this newsletter is a work-in-progress and your feedback is welcome for us to serve you better.
