We are proud of UTAR's growth and stature over the past 6 years, and of the vision that has always guided us - to be a premier university aspiring to achieve excellence in the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and expertise, emphasising nurturing and holistic development of the individual towards nation building. As alumni of UTAR, you have played a part in making UTAR what it is today, and we are grateful for the loyalty and interest you have displayed since your graduation.

As UTARians, you are the university's best ambassadors. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have provided current UTAR students with access to internships and placement in your organizations, employment leads, industry networking and other avenues of exposure to academia and industry. UTAR's stature and image is enhanced with your success and contributions to the Universtiy, society and the nation.

With so many exciting developments at UTAR today, the University would like to create opportunities for alumni to be involved. We hope that by inviting you to UTAR events and alumni activities, you will be able to interact not only with your old classmates and other alumni but also with your juniors who are still studying at the University. As alumni, you are their role models and there are many ways which you could guide them.

To date, UTAR has over 12,000 alumni who work or study in different parts of Malaysia and around the world. I would like to remind you that, no matter where you are, staying in touch with your alma mater, your coursemates, and fellow alumni is important as these are your friends for life and an invaluable resource for networking. In this regard, we strongly encourage you to fully utilize our alumni services such as this alumni newsletter, offerings of short courses, listing of employment opportunities via job zone, broadcast of opportunities for further studies and so forth.
