The UTAR KV Sports Carnival was held on 2nd August 2009 at KTAR, Main Campus Sports Facilities. 441 UTAR students from 3 campuses and one team of alumni took part in the following categories.

1.Basketball

2.Volleyball

3.Futsal

4.Badminton

5.Table tennis

6.Tennis

7.Netball

8.Tug of War

The sports events started at 9.00am and finish at around 4.30pm, then followed by 2 ?Best of the Best? matches, which involved UTAR netball team versus KTAR netball team; and UTAR futsal team versus Alumni team. The last event for the day was Tug of War.

The main objective of the Sports Carnival was to promote understanding and healthy lifestyle among our students from different campuses and alumni. It also encouraged UTAR students to participate in sporting and physical recreational activities in order to create spirit of sportsmanship and competitiveness. Meanwhile potential and talented students in sports could be short-listed for future tournaments.

The prize giving ceremony started at 5.45pm, the Guest of Honour was Professor Dr. Ewe Hong Tat (Vice President - Internationalisation and Academic Development).
