More than 100 UTAR alumni and fresh graduates attended the "Alumni Homecoming Graduation Dinner" held in the ballroom of a popular business hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 21 August 2010.

     UTAR President Ir. Prof. Dato' Dr. Chuah Hean Teik and several senior university officers were present at the dinner.

     A short multimedia presentation titled "Down Memory Lane", sumptuous food, light entertainment, and prizes for lucky draws were part of the 9-course dinner function organised by the University to welcome home its alumni as well as to provide an opportunity for fresh graduates to meet their "seniors".

      Alumni Fan Ya Fu, Steve Lim Kok Joo and Basil Foo Ji Sheng with some members of iSoul, an entertainment company formed by them with friends, sang Chinese, Malay and English songs with guest guitarist Nicholas Ker accompanying them.  An instrumental solo from Alumna Lok How Wae, a Diabola demonstration by UTAR foundation student Yeoh Jen Tat, and a Latin dance routine by two guest performers were part of the entertainment arranged for the evening.

      Alumnus Ravindaran A/L  Seniasamy, a former UTAR student representative and now a manager of a tuition centre, said that he attended the dinner to support  his alma mater.

      Alumna Cassandra Tan, a cabin crew of Singapore Airlines, flew back to attend her sister?s convocation and attended the dinner "to meet old friends".  

      Among those present at this 2nd homecoming event were 20 UTAR alumni from Accenture, the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company and the gold sponsor of the event.

            Some went home with more than just fond memories of the gathering; they also took home prizes from two rounds of luck draws.
