DECEMBER 2011

Nostalgic experience during campus tour

UTAR's main campus in Kampar is well known among the public visitors for its multi attractions of the state-of-the-art architecture and its breath taking scenery. However, on 19th November 2011 the campus brought a group of 20 alumni down their memory lane, when they visited their once beloved campus, to catch up with its latest development. It was truly a nostalgic day for the 20 of them whom travelled all the way from far to rekindle their memories with their alma mater.

"The beautiful scenery will certainly motivate me to pursue postgraduate study in UTAR Kampar campus," said a thrilled Ronnie.

Thean Yew, the leader of the alumni team who shared the same feeling said that if he would to pursue his Postgraduate study in the campus, he will never regret it. "It will be a sweet memory to me, definitely," he said.

The alumni who were mostly from the Faculty of Accountancy and Management and the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology in Kuala Lumpur, were briefed about the various departments and their respective functions in UTAR before the sojourners witnessed the magnificent sunset in the horizon.

Prior to the campus tour, the alumni were first taken to experience the Sungkai Hot Spring, a tourist spot along the way to Kampar that must not be missed. However, the weather condition was not favorable to them as they contended themselves by relaxing their feet into the hot spring.

The Department of Alumni Relations and Placements prides itself by organizing such activities to promote interactions and rapport between alumni and UTAR, instilling interest, loyalty ad support.
