MAY 2015

There Are No Secrets To Success

Chan Pui Yee

Master of Business Administration

(Corporate Management, CM)

Batch, March 2015

It gave me great pleasure to say that choosing UTAR to pursue my studies in MBA (CM) was a right decision which earned me a lifetime and invaluable experience. The course emphasized on the real case problem solving, team building with lecturer and most importantly, many of my hidden qualities, which I believed, were brought out during the courses especially on presentation and problem-solving skills.

I chose to pursue my postgraduate studies in UTAR because it offered quality programmes with affordable tuition fees and low living expenses within Kampar areas. Moreover, the scenery in Perak Campus provided me an enriching & conducive learning environment as well as a relaxed atmosphere for postgraduate studies. Nevertheless, the course structure, method of assessment and experienced lecturer made the learning process more exciting. I was extremely grateful towards my lecturers, where they were well equipped with specialised knowledge and experienced with industry background. Most importantly the lecturers were ready to give and listen to ideas and feedback from students during the class discussion.

UTAR?s administration staff, especially Institute of Postgraduate Studies & Research (IPSR) and Faculty of Business and Finance (FBF) were always available to assist me in familiarising with the procedure and documentation of MBA (CM) courses. The warmness extended by them would be a source of inspiration for me to excel in my postgraduate studies.

With my beloved parent

The most memorable accomplishments was to complete a 30,000 words  research project as part of the completion for MBA (CM) which was extremely painful to overcome in writing the dissertation and underwent three courseworks within a semester. Concurrently, I had to complete three group assignments with presentation and carry out research project which required me to collect data across Malaysia. The main lesson throughout the process was my supervisor, Dr Krishna Moorthy Manicka Nadar, who taught me to ACCEPT, OVERCOME, and LEARN from failures and look for solutions. In the end, I became much stronger person and more equipped for a better problem handling in the real world of my future undertakings.

What inspiration I got from the entire course- As Colin Powell said "THERE ARE ALWAYS NO SECRETS TO SUCCESS". Success is highly depending on own hard work, accomplishment, learning from failures and persistence.

Thanks UTAR!!!
