JUNE 2016

Thanks to UTAR

KHOO WAI YING

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONS) CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT WITH DISTINCTION

Batch of March 2015

Taking a serious look back, university life was fascinating. What I remembered about UTAR are exhilarating, intimidating but always challenging. I graduated with the feeling of deep satisfaction. Three years in university was special because without this precious moment in my life, I would not own some characters such as determination, confidence and commitment.

The first step is always the hardest, but if you don't take the first step, there can never be a next step. Sometimes, I felt frustrated along this journey due the many sleepless night, pressure and fatigue. It has been a greatest challenge as a Construction Management's student and sometimes I thought of giving up. But those were only the thoughts because I realize then that  persistency is more important than talent. Often I was proud of myself as a Utarian who will be strong enough to cope with enormity task, problems and obstacles.

University life provided us skills, knowledge and invaluable experience. Lecturers always challenged us with enormous assignments, project and test which is applicable in the society. The university environment was like the model of the society in miniature. There was up and down and now I am ready for the real world waiting outside the university walls.

Quality in academic environment and lecturers are sufficient in UTAR and they are the important factors for student's success. In similar, great desire and enthusiasm in looking knowledge also contributing to student's achievement. Thus, I understood that with such excellent study environment and positive attitudes, everyone is able to stand at the top.

I would always remember the three years of studying here as the most valuable time in my life and also wanted to express my gratitude to all lecturers who always supported me especially Professor Dr Naoto Mine, Dr Wai Soon Han and Mr Tey Kim Hai for their outstanding guidance and assistance. I would like also to express heartfelt gratitude to my parents. Last but not least, sincere thanks to Mr Hiu for putting up my irritability. I will do my best to demonstrate to the world that UTAR graduates are always the best.

With my family
