Following the success of three UTAR races held previously, the Department of Alumni Relations & Placement (DARP) organised the 4th UTAR Alumni Amazing Race on 22 July 2017, which was initiated at UTAR Sungai Long Campus and concluded at Taman Botani, Shah Alam. The objective of the event was to foster a closer relationship and network between UTAR and its alumni.

The Alumni Amazing Race flagged off at 8am, where the participants rushed to their designated stations to begin their journey. During the run, the participants were required to race to eight different destinations, where challenging yet, fun-filled tasks were prepared for them at each station.

A total of 12 teams with each consisting of four members, took part in the event. Upon the successful completion of each task, a clue was given to the participants by the "Game Master" as a cue for them to get to the next station. The team that completed the tasks in the allocated time and arrived first at the final location was regarded as the winner. Attractive prizes were prepared for the participants to enjoy and take delight in.

The first place was won by Daniel Ngan Ban Leong, Long Mun Hoe, Tang Tih Wen and Wong Kok Hau who took home RM800 whereas the second and third prize winners took home RM500 and RM300 respectively. The fourth and fifth place were given consolation prizes.

The Officer-in-Charge DARP Naaresh Arumugam said, "As overall, the event was very successful. We received a very good support from the alumni and more importantly, I believe the participants were able to build a good network with one another. The participants really seemed to enjoy the race. I certainly look forward to more Amazing Races in the future."

The event was followed by a prize giving ceremony. The prizes were given out by the Head of Chancellery Department Lim Swea Jen and Head of DARP Foo Wai Wai. A photo session was held with all the participants and helpers before the event adjourned.
