Associate Professor Ir Ts Dr Jeffrey Yap is a distinguished project management lecturer in the built environment at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Kajang, Malaysia. He earned his PhD in Project Management from the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW), Kuala Lumpur, where he was honoured as the IUMW Valedictorian (Best Student Award). He also holds an MSc in Construction Management and a BEng in Civil Engineering.

Dr Yap has held managerial roles with several prominent property development companies and served as a design engineer with an international civil and structural engineering consultancy in Malaysia. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a Corporate Member (MIEM) of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), a Professional Technologist (PTech) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

With extensive experience in both industry and academia, Dr Yap possesses broad expertise in project management, knowledge management, construction engineering, organisational learning, and sustainable development in the built environment. His research focuses on practical and transformative outcomes that benefit the construction and real estate industries. Actively engaged in international research collaborations and engineering consultancy services, he has authored over 80 scholarly journal papers featured in leading academic journals.

Dr Yap’s article, “Housing Affordability in Malaysia: Perception, Price Range, Influencing Factors, and Policies,” published in the International Journal of Housing Markets and Analysis, received the Outstanding Paper Award at the 2019 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence.
