Dr Ng Kar Yee is the Head of Programme, MBA and MBA (Corporate Governance) at the Faculty of Accountancy and Management, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). She has been engaged in the higher education industry for the last 14 years, teaching a wide range of economics courses.

Her research interests include the labour standards, labour mobility, economic development, human capital and education economics.  Currently, she is involving in research projects that study issues related to economic development, regional economic cooperation, labour market structure in gig economy, etc.
