Hi, I am Azeyan, an Assistant Professor at the Teh Hong Piow, Faculty of Business and Finance, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). Over the past 14 years, I’ve been passionate about inspiring students, exploring new ideas, and contributing to the fields of Leadership, Human Resource Development, Workplace Behaviour, and Education. My educational journey includes earning a PhD in Management from Graduate School of Business, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2022, as well as a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development from School of Human Resources Development & Psychology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), both completed in 2009 and 2008 respectively. Along the way, I have been awarded several internal and external grants as a principal investigator and co-researcher, including funding from the UTAR Research Fund (UTARRF) and other prestigious agencies such as Malaysian National Commission UNESCO. My most recent project, which I have completed, focused on exploring the use of Augmented Reality in TVET.
I have authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in my fields. Besides, I actively engaged in academic service by serving as a journal reviewer for Acta Psychologica (Elsevier), evaluating manuscripts related to achievement emotions in online learning, and for Current Psychology (Springer) journal. Additionally, I served as chair of a parallel session and as a jury member for the Best Presenter award at the International Conference on Accounting, Management, and Economics (ICAME 2024), and participated as a panelist in the UTAR Research Fund (UTARRF) grant interview process, helping to evaluate and support innovative research projects.
Beyond research and publication activities, I have actively contributed to administrative roles within UTAR, including multiple terms as a member of the Curriculum Development Committee (CDC), where I contributed to designing and reviewing academic programs. I also served on the Self-Assessment Committee (SAC), supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts, and acted as an external moderator for foundational courses in Arts and Science, ensuring academic standards and assessment consistency. In addition, I’ve been fortunate to receive several recognitions for my teaching, including multiple letters of commendation from the President of UTAR across different trimesters. In 2021, I was awarded the UTAR Staff Long Service and also received the Best Presenter Award at the INCEBT 2023 conference and the UTAR e-Learning Excellence Award in 2023. These award serve as a reminder for me to continue in deliver meaningful education.
