  Industrial Training

The Industrial Training is a core component to the FAS learning experience. By sending students for internships and attachments in companies around Malaysia, the module is designed to provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Discover and familiarize themselves with professional requirements, work culture, and discipline
  • Observe real-life practices and apply the technical skills they have learned in authentic settings
  • Develop soft skills such as leadership skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills in a working environment

The attachment is also a great opportunity for students to test out the companies and/or industries they will be working in in the near future, as well as for companies to identify potential future employees.

FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS

The FAS IA Committee has implemented a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Industrial Training module. For further information, please refer to the WBLE.

FOR INTERESTED ORGANISATIONS

The Industrial Training module is offered to students from the Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FAS) undergoing the English, Advertising, Psychology, Journalism, and Public Relations degree programmes. The module is offered twice a year - January and May, and the duration of each module is 13 weeks at the workplace. On the 14th week, students are required to conduct an oral presentation on campus.
