The Perak MCA Youth will hold 10 torch runs from Dec 1 to Jan 12 to commemorate the ground-breaking ceremony for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman's main campus building.

Its chief, Datuk Tan Chin Meng, who is also organizing chairman for the "Torch Run Towards Excellence in UTAR" said the run would be held at the 23 divisions in the state.

He said that the participants will also run through new and traditional villages to inform everyone of the event and about the existence of UTAR itself.

"We are expecting over 5,000 participants for the torch runs", he told a press conference at the state MCA office, here.
