Selandar MCA has raised RM1.58mil to develop Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), making it the party's first division to cross the million-ringgit mark in the collection.

Division chief Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn and state chairman Datuk Wira Poh Ah Tiam presented a mock cheque to MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik, who is also Utar chairman, at a dinner, themed "MCA and Utar - Walking Hand-in-Hand in a Million-Mile Journey," in Machap Umboo near Malacca last night.
