Beijing Dancers To Help Raise RM500,000 For UTAR

The 40 troupe members of the renowned China Greatwall Artistes Group from Beijing, who arrived here recently, will make a special appearance to raise funds for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) on Oct 24.

The show's organizing chairman Datuk Loke Yuen Yow said the target was to raise RM500,000 from the show which is to be held at Dewan San Choon at 7.30pm.

"Response to the ticket sales is very good and we are confident of achieving this target," said Loke.

The show will be attended by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik.

Troupe members, aged between 18 and 23, will perform acrobatic and dance movements.

The show will be an eye-opener for those who know little about Chinese culture and its rich heritage. "We trust the show will not only appeal to Chinese but also to the other races," said Loke.

Tickets are priced at RM200 onwards for VIPs, RM20 (adults) and RM10 (children aged between three and 11).
