UTAR Population Growing Fast

Datuk Seri Dr. Ling Liong Sik said the construction of the Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Kampar has to be expedited to cater to an anticipated increase in the number of students.

He also said that each year, the number of students for UTAR will increase by 1,000 to 2,000.

The UTAR complex in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, was scheduled to be completed this July and it would be able to accommodate about 5,000 students.

"We will have to build the new campus in Kampar fast as the campus in Section 13 and the one in Setapak will not be sufficient for the increasing number of students wishing to study in UTAR," The added.
