Torch run sheds light on interest shown for UTAR

UTAR torch run organizing chairman Loh Seng Kok said rural folks from all walks of life and races contributed more than the expected amount for UTAR in spite of the raging war in Iraq and the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) scare.

"What really touched our hearts is the support rendered by our Malay and Indian friends who brought along their children," he added.
