What services are we providing?

1. Individual Counselling

We provide you with caring and confidential counselling for:        

  • Personal growth or academic improvements
  • Family relationships
  • Emotional and interpersonal enrichment
  • Adjustment to university life
  • Choice of fields of study
  • Confidence and self-esteem enhancement

 

Counselling may help if you have been experiencing:

  • A sense that something is wrong
  • Signs of stress
  • Thoughts of quitting from University
  • Sleep problems
  • Concentration problems
  • Keep worrying about things or
  • Thoughts about harming yourself

 

It is not about:

  • Performing miracles
  • Providing quick fixes
  • Telling you what to do
  • Making moral judgements or
  • Putting you in a scary or formal situation.

 

If you need further help from another organisation or resources, we can help to link you in with the right support or service.

 

2. Career Counselling

4. Group Counselling

 

We offer group counselling to small groups of students with similar issues throughout the year. The group members recognise and understand their issues through discussions and gain support from each other. 5. Happy Mail Service

 

If you feel uncomfortable to attend face to face counselling, you are welcome to write to us through our Happy Mail Serviceor contact us through UTAR Happy Mail Facebook Page

 

Happy Mail is a new project initiated and handled by Peer Counsellors from  Peer Helping Programme (PHP). We are here to share your difficulties and sorrows. People don't always need advice. Sometimes, all we really need is a pair of listening ears to understand. Let us provide you emotional support. You don't have to suffer alone.

 

Followings are the steps to reach us:

Step 1:   Write an email or letter to share with us regarding your issues.

Step 2:   Drop the letter into our LETTERBOX with your address OR send it to our email address at utarhappymail@gmail.com

Step 3:   For Letter, we will reply you within 14 days. For Email, we will reply you within 7 working days.

 

** The LETTERBOX will be allocated at Student Pavilion 1.

** Your details will be kept private and confidential.
