Kwansei Gakuin University’s(KGU) volunteer programme enables its sudents to gain practical work experience in developing countries. Students in this programme work in a range of organizations such as offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross, offices of non-governmental organizations conducting activities abroad and educational institutions.
There are two main reasons why I chose UTAR. First, I was eager to introduce Japanese language and culture to many people. I had learned the features of Japanese language and how to teach Japanese to foreigners at KGU. Through running of workshops, I was able to apply what I had learned.
Secondly, I was really interested in soft skills education in UTAR. My country, Japan, does not have such a programme. I have learned many things at DSSC. I am planning to write about soft skills in my future graduation thesis.
