International Student Volunteer Portfolio - 2014/15 Hitomi Iguchi
Kwansei Gakuin University’s(KGU) volunteer programme enables its sudents to gain practical work experience in developing countries. Students in this programme work in a range of organizations such as offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross, offices of non-governmental organizations conducting activities abroad and educational institutions.

I chose UTAR because of my interest in the university’s programme in softskills development. I can assist in and manage these softskills development activities and courses because I like planning activities and events. Also, I hope that facing new and challenging situations can enhance my self development and confidence.

At UTAR, I enjoyed my work in a multi-cultural environment. I plan to engage in international business, focusing on business in South East Asia, in the future. I believe that my experience in Malaysia is a step forward in the right direction.
