Online Academic Profile

The University would like to encourage our academic staff members to create and maintain their online academic profile at the following online platforms.

1) Scopus Author ID

Scopus Author Identifiers are system generated: if you have an article indexed in Scopus, you will have an ID. However, this means that you may have more than one ID generated if you have published with variant names and affiliations (e.g. Clarke, G and Clarke, GC).  The way that Scopus automatically generates Scopus Author Identifiers and links to your previous work can sometimes pose problems for analysis of citation metrics on your publications if they are spread over several different identifiers.  Each author identifier will not give the complete picture of your body of work.

You may do an author search on your name via https://www.scopus.com/search/form.uri?display=authorLookup&clear=t&origin=searchbasic&txGid=40ab200ccdc747537dee9d196738ac6d

2) Google Scholar Citations Profile

Please create and maintain an online academic profile by signing up for a Google Scholar Citations profile via  https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=new_profile&hl=en

The online academic profile would increase your visibility as an author as well as the visibility of your publications and to track citations of your articles.  In addition to citations to one's work, Google Scholar calculates metrics such as the h-index, i10-index, the total numbers of citations to an author, and displays them on each profile.

3) ORCID® iD

An ORCID® iD is a unique identifier which can be added to a wide range of research material including grants, research outputs and datasets to ensure your work is attributed to you and distinguishable from that of other researchers.

ORCID® iD  can be synced with Scopus and ResearcherID (Web of Science) so that you can centralize your research outputs in one common place.

You may register for your ORCID ID via https://orcid.org/register
